		<description>I am extremely disappointed with 1and1 customer service! As a longtime 1and1 customer, I expected more help with a issue I just encountered.  On Wednesday I discovered that one of my email boxes (the most important one) had not received incoming mail since Monday.  My other email boxes worked just fine and I sent an email from one of them as a test.  Not only was it not received, but it never bounced back as undeliverable. 
I called 1and1&#039;s customer service center.  On the positive side, I did not have a long wait.  I explained the issue to the service rep who went to my mailbox and was unsure of the issue.  I specifically told her that for the first time I used the spam mail filter and asked if that could have caused the problem.  She emphatically said no.  She told me she would do something and to wait and hour.  
The next day I went to the mailbox and nothing had been fixed.  So once again I called customer service and gave this representative the case number.  He said there was nothing he could do as “it was sent to administration”. I asked what that meant, and he only repeated that it was with administration to fix and they would notify me. When I asked how long this would take, he had no idea.
I was not satisfied with these responses, so I took it upon myself to eliminate all of the emails I had placed in the spam filter.  What do you know!  Once I did that I began receiving emails again!  It would have saved me a great deal of grief, not to mention some important business related emails if the first representative had some idea what she was talking about.
By the way, I have yet to receive any news from “administration”.  And as I test, I entered one email address to the span filter and guess what?  Even just one blocked all my incoming emails to that box.
As I first said, I am extremely disappointed with 1and1!</description>

		<description>I have been dealing with 1 and 1 trying to transfer my acct to godaddy.com and what a nightmare. 		<description>I have to say 1&amp;1 internet hosting company SUCKS! They sent me an invoice 2 months ago. I immediately replied from the same email address telling them it’s not my charges and they need to cancel the service and issue me the credit. 2 months later, I am still calling them; sending them emails and nothing has been resolved. Their customer service people have been rude and hung up on my several times. I talked to Michael in their fraud department who was rude and very unhelpful. I talked to Victoria who hung up on me. 
With all the guarantees on their websites, they are still big fraud. I would never recommend them. As the matter of fact, anyone who is reading this should think twice before opening an account with these crooks.</description>

During one of my countless conversations with a Cust. Rep., someone disclosed to me that the Parent company is German(y)-based.  This could speak to their total disregard for the BBB or FTC.
I hope this is helpful and that the Parent company has simply been unaware of the disasterous way someone else has been conducting business in the USA; And makes major changes, i.e., New USA Tech Support Team.

		<description>Two of our domains with 1and1 from the 30+ domains we currently have with them were transferred to another provider. 1and1.com decided to bill us anyway. They always do this and we have to remember to email them to credit it. but this last time they are claiming that the domain was not transferred before the due date which I believe is wrong per the registrar details.

So we decided to dispute the charge with the credit card company (VISA) on September 7th. So today we received a blackmail email from 1and1 that if we dont sign a form they attached to authorize the original charge of $17.98 plus an additional $20 charge back fee they will lock our account and I guess take over all of our domains. As of now we don&#039;t have access to any of the domains.

I called Bank of America VISA they said they have never heard of a business doing this sort of blackmail but could not advise me what to do and told me to seek a lawyer instead.

After doing some research I was told to make a complaint with ICANN and we did, so we are waiting for a reply back.

Please let me know if this is legal and/or the right way of handling this situation.

What has to happen, I think, is an attorney general inquiry must be done on 1and1 billing practices, and what I feel is false/misleading marketing 1&amp;1 corporate headquarters marketing team.

I first called to verify DNS settings for our server upgrade over 10 days.  I asked to speak with someone on a higher level of support and who spoke English I could understand.  The person I spoke with said they could handle it.  5 Days later, the net is still pointing to the old server.  Meanwhile we are incurring fees from HostGator for having two dedicated servers, because dealing with dOne &amp; dOne, our billing period had lapsed.  We call 4 days ago, I&#039;m told that what we were told on the first call was wrong....again I asked to speak to someone who I could understand....I call again the next day, I want to verify what I was told the day before was accurate and done properly...AGAIN...I&#039;m on the phone with someone who &quot;donta speaka no english&quot; at least English which is comprehensible to the rest of us.

I write a flaming letter to their so called support, get a reply with all this &quot;we&#039;re going to get to the bottom of this&quot; blah...blah.  I just now issued an ultimatum, that if we don&#039;t get an adequate response today by 3pm...we are filing a complaint with ICANN, but many of you above have suggested some other good organizations with which to file complaints.

Truthfully, I think I much prefer to use my skills in SEO and Internet marketing to make sure anyone thinking of doing business with them hears about out stories first.

To anyone considering using 1&amp;1 Hosting/1and1 Hosting/ One and One Hosting/  (good you&#039;ve found us here) DONT!  They have English speaking sales people, but once they get your contract, you will deal with a tech support team who reads a script and barely speaks English.</description>

In effect they are trying to hold this dimain name hostage. I have started reading articles to the effect that they are &quot;stealing domain names&quot; and THIS I will not tolerate because it is in essence blackmail and I do not believe this is legal.
SO...I AM going to now lodge a complaint with Consumer Reports and the FTC, I AM going to both Wired Magazine and Boing-Boing contatcs and I AM working ym way up the food chain through corporate research and sources to get to the top person there. I urge every one of you to get a hold of Consumer Reports and issue a complain and also with the FTC.
The more people who speak out, the better chance to stop others from this type of extortion.</description>

And everyone watch out for GoDaddy, too. If they even &quot;think&quot; you&#039;re spamming (i.e. ONE complaint from someone even if they SUBSCRIBE to hear from you), they &quot;investigate&quot; and FREEZE your domain until you&#039;re proven innocent. If you prove you&#039;re innocent (we did), they charge you a $250 &quot;incident&quot; fee anyway.

I didn&#039;t pay the fee -- I moved my domains to 1&amp;1.

<p>Anyone want to help me mount a fight?  They have a great product but PISS POOR MANAGEMENT!  The service is GREAT when it works, which it does for the most part, but HORRIBLE when it goes down!</p>

		<description>thanks for your response. problem is that my bill already went to collections and already impacted my credit. all this happened without my knowledge. i have been a loyal paying customer and my credit card expired and amex didn&#039;t automatically re assume this ongoing payment. 1 and 1 had a VERY old email and address associated with my account and apparently they tried (as well as the credit agency) to reach me with no success. it was total coincidence that i found out. if i pay the bill to collections, i am admitting to this fault, and my credit stays affected. i tried to explain this to 1 and 1 billing but they don&#039;t care...so now I am going through hoops to dispute this in alternate routes...nightmare...</description>
