One of the most popular apps for editing WMC recordings is Video Redo. I use it to remove ads from movies that I've recorded and convert the output to .mpg. Then I use Windows DVD Maker to add a menu, scene selection page, and burn it to DVD.

I'm using Windows 7 RC1 now, and it appears that it uses a new extension - *.wtv (Windows TV). I haven't done any further investigation into seeing if anything has changed besides the extension, all I'm interested in doing at this point is finding a program that can play recorded TV files on my XP Pro laptop.
